The Mitchell Block is a 40,000 square foot, four story office building being constructed by the Bohemian Companies on the corner of Mountain Avenue & Walnut Street. The architecture of the building is reflective of the historic buildings in and around old town with a modern edge. The building also incorporates many green practices into the design and will feature electric car charging stations at curb side. Other unique features include a musically themed alley way between the building and the food co-op and a public plaza at the corner of the building. This building is a vast improvement over the former buildings and parking lot that used to sit on this prominent corner. I personally am hopeful this will trigger a resurgence of the east end of downtown. Coupled with future redevelopment plans across Walnut Street, the Southern entrance to old town square will become very impressive and lively in coming years.

Great new blog! This building is a vast improvement, however I can't tell - is it fronting the street or is it recessed with parking in the front?
The building fronts the street on both Mountain avenue and Walnut street. All parking for the building is located in an underground ramp.
